It is widely recognised that the development of literacy is most effective when parents and teachers act as partners to support each other’s efforts. But many parents feel unsure about their role, and they will particularly welcome such a user-friendly guide, written by a team of experienced teachers. The majority of these teachers are parents too, and all are familiar with the expectations that schools have of parents and the questions that parents most frequently ask.
