Smart Thinking: Developing reflection and metacognition

This book will assist teachers in their quest to develop students' capacities as deep thinkers and independent learners. It will support the establishment of thoughtful classrooms that provide opportunities for student negotiation, goal setting and decision making. Smart Thinking is aimed at empowering students to take responsibility for their learning, to manage themselves and their interpersonal relationships, and to direct their thinking and actions in meaningful and purposeful ways.
