DON'T MISS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE YOUR SAY ON A PROPOSED NATIONAL CURRICULUM IN ENGLISH

Hosted by the Arts, English and Literacy Education (AELE) Research Network in the Faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney, this symposium will provide a forum for discussion for all who are involved or have an interest in English in Education, including: academics; scholars and researchers in the field of English who are in faculties other than Education; teachers from the government, Catholic and independent sectors; policymakers and public servants working in the English curriculum field, as well as their counterparts in the non-government sectors; parents; and students.

Delivering the Opening Address will be The Hon John Della Bosca MLC, Minister for Education and Training, Minister for Industrial Relations, Minister for the Central Coast, and Minister Assisting the Minister for Finance.

Mr Tony Mackay, Deputy Chair of the Australian Government’s recently formed National Curriculum Board, will then deliver the keynote address. Mr Mackay will close the symposium by synthesising and commenting on the key issues to arise from the presentations and collegial discussions throughout the day.
