PEN156 Designing for learning: Integrating digital content into learning tasks

by Peter Burrows, Olivia Clarke and Keiju Souminen with Mary Kalantzis and Bill Cope

Teachers are reminded daily that their 'digital native' students are far in advance of them as mere 'digital immigrants' in our technology-saturated world. Young people's livces are steepend in information technologyiers and the multiple modes of communication and expression these offer. In this PEN, Burrows, Clarke and Souminen look at a curriculum planning model that is being used to support teachers to create innovative units of work which engage and challenge students by making thoughtful use of high quality digital resources.

A collection of learning elements using the curriculum planning model referred to in this PEN are available for download from the Teaching resources section of this site.
