What do we do?
We’re all about improving English and literacy outcomes. We produce specialist and general publications addressing and promoting literacy in Australian schools, and offer accredited professional development for teachers.
We:
- promote the importance of children’s literacy learning in all areas of the school curriculum;
- advance the importance of the teacher’s role in language and literacy education;
- serve as a professional forum for sharing current research and practice relevant to the teaching of spoken, written and visual literacy;
- represent primary teachers on national bodies and consultation committees.
- Our output ranges from teacher reference material suitable for classroom teachers and student teachers, to publications informing parents about language and literacy.
Professional development? We’re accredited
Our professional development program offers teachers access to up-to-date practical teaching and learning ideas delivered by a range of skilled presenters and writers in various venues around Australia.
