Recent review of the Primary English Teaching Association (PETA) means this is an exciting time to join our committed team and lead PETA into its next phase of growth. With over 5000 members nationally, this not-for-profit Association’s objective is to improve literacy and English outcomes for children by supporting the teaching of English in the community. For over 35 years PETA has developed a reputation for publishing quality English and literacy texts, leading professional learning and coordinating national projects.
Reporting to the Board, leading a team of approximately 10 staff (permanent and contract), the key areas of responsibility include:
- Strategic leadership and planning
- Staff management and development
- Financial and resource management
- Governance
- Implementation of major projects
You will be a skilled professional who is able to demonstrate a high level of competence and experience in the following areas:
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written
- Expertise to work effectively and manage with flexibility within a small organisational culture
- Ability to implement the Board’s strategic plan
- Understanding of financial management
- Strong marketing aptitude
- Some experience/knowledge of the publishing industry
- Proven Leadership skills
- Education background preferable but not essential
Based in Sydney, there will be some national travel involved.
